We have been raising $3,000 per surgery since 2009. We are grateful we are on child #19 but realized I need to do a HUGE effort to have lots of sponsors for our Jan 2018 trip so we can save one kid per day- that would be 14 in one trip!
I met with the Mending Kids staff and the decision was made to sponsor an entire mission. That's $30-40,000. Each mission hopes to save 27-37 kids with heart surgery repairs. That means the individual surgery cost drops to about $1,000 per child. Where in the world can you save a life for that amount?
